Academic Eligibility

Students-athletes wishing to participate in athletics must meet the following requirements:

  • All Student-Athletes must be enrolled for at least 12 credits throughout each term
  • All Student-Athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 each term
  • Student-Athletes may compete in four years of intercollegiate athletics – generally, this four-year period must be completed within five years of the student’s first full-time college enrollment (other eligibility rules apply)
  • Students accepted by the College who are enrolling in college for the first time are eligible immediately
  • Transfer students must have been eligible at their previous institution in order to be eligible at Cazenovia
  • All Student-Athletes must pass a minimum number of credits each term (always enrolled for 12 credits):
  • After the First semester student must have passed at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Pass at least 24 credits after a student’s second term with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Pass at least 36 credits after a student’s third term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 48 credits after a student’s fourth term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 60 credits after a student’s fifth term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 72 credits after a student’s sixth term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 84 credits after a student’s seventh term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 96 credits after a student’s eighth term with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA
  • Pass at least 108 credits after a student’s ninth semester with a minimum 2.0 cum. GPA (if athletics eligibility remains)
