SUNY IT Spoils Senior Day for Men's Basketball Squad

Cazenovia, N.Y. - While the Cazonovia men's basketball team had a day to forget in their lopsided loss to SUNY IT (90-59). Senior Joe Nichols (Worcester, MA) would have a career game on senior day.

Nichols would get things going by knocking down a three from the corner for the games first points, but SUNY IT (14-10, 13-5 NEAC) would start to take command of the game after converting a Cazenovia turnover into an easy bucket to take a 14-7 lead.

Cazenovia (4-20, 4-15 NEAC) would get a spark from Darnell Sampson (Syracuse, N.Y.) who made two straight acrobatic shots to cut into the lead, but SUNY IT would respond once again rattling off 12 unanswered points en route to taking a 46-23 lead at the half.

Nichols would come out firing for Cazenovia in the second half. He hit six more three pointers in the stanza to finish with a team high 21 points, but Cazenovia would never get closer than 19 points as SUNY IT would cruise to a 90-59 victory.

SUNY IT was led by David Golembiowski (Barneveld, N.Y.) who recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Cazenovia will travel to Davis College on Tuesday to play in their season finale.
