Coach Bonnier:

In 2012 I will begin my 7th season in charge of the Wildcats after directing coaches, coaching high school soccer, and premier club soccer for 10 years. Through the United States Soccer Federation and National Soccer Coaches Association, I have grown professionally. My passion was evident at an early age and progressed as a player at SUNY Canton and ultimately SUNY Brockport. I earned my undergraduate degree from SUNY Brockport (physical education) in 1994, and my graduate degree (health education) from SUNY Cortland in 2000. As a teacher I recognize the importance of education. I grew up in Schaghticoke, N.Y (north east of Albany), and currently reside in Cicero, N.Y., with my wife Amy, and three beautiful sons Noah, Adam, and Evan.

Coaching Career:

  • 2009 NEAC Coach of the Year
  • NCAA Tournament Participant
  • Cayuga CC Women's Soccer 2005; NJCAA Regional Playoff Team
  • CNY United Coaching Director and Girl's Coach 2005
  • Chittenango High School Girls Varsity          (1999-2004) 2002 NYSPHSAA Championship Finalist and NYSPHSAA Coach of the Year
  • Syracuse Blitz FC Vortex 2004 NYSW Champions and Region I Championships Semi-Finalist
  • Syracuse Blitz FC Lightning 2001 and 2002 NYSW Champions and 2001 Region I Championship Finalists
  • NYSW ODP 2000

Wildcats:

Our student athletes make academics their number one priority, but we ask them to make the necessary sacrifices to maximize their athletic performance. A Wildcat player represents the college with dignity and wears the uniform with pride. When one graduates from Cazenovia I want them to look back with a smile on their face and know they are part of our soccer family for life.

Recruits:

The coaching staff looks for recruits who fit the mission statement of the team (below), and shares the same passion we do. We choose players that are able to play in our ball-possessive philosophy, where going forward and attacking is the objective. Playing with style, pace, and movement requires players that are determined and hard working.

Our Competition:

We play a very good NEAC (NEACsports.com) schedule and some of the most challenging non-conference opponents you could imagine. As our soccer stock rises we feel the only way to become champions is to challenge ourselves as often as possible. We play the best competition that we can play in the regular season to prepare for the post season, as the team has qualified for post season play in four of the last six years including the NCAA Championship Tournament in 2009.

Our Accomplishments:

In 2011 we earned the No. 2 seed for the NEAC tournament with a 6-1-3 record. Unfortunately we bowed out in the semi-finals in O.T. In 2009 We would be champions of the NEAC and receive an automatic qualification into the NCAA tournament. What a sensational accomplishment for our young soccer program.
