In 2006, Bill Houser became the first
official head coach of the Cazenovia College Men’s and
Women’s Swimming and Diving teams. Coach Houser
brings 12 years of coaching experience at the interscholastic,
collegiate and club levels. During his coaching career Houser
has had the opportunity to coach several National and
Olympic-caliber swimmers and has been a part of programs that have
produced a number of High School and College All-American swimmers.
In 2010, the Cazenovia College Women's Team was the first ever NEAC
conference tournament and regular season champion.
Houser is also currently the Head Coach of the Christian Brothers
High School girl’s varsity swimming and diving team.
Since starting with Christian Brothers, Houser has compiled a 88-1
record and captured 7 sectional titles. In 2009, CBA was the
#1 overall ranked girls team in New York State and 7th in the
nation based on school size. Houser also served as the head
coach of a USA Swimming Club, the Dewitt Swim Club from
2003-2007. During his time with Dewitt, the team more than
doubled in number to nearly 200 participants and continues to
produce some of the finest swimmers in the Syracuse area.
Educated in the area, Houser received a bachelors degree in
biology from Le Moyne College and a masters degree in exercise
science from Syracuse University.
A former student-athlete himself, Houser began his collegiate
swimming career in 1995 with the DII Le Moyne program. Houser
swam four years for the Dolphins and was named the team’s
captain in his junior and senior years. Graduating in 1999,
Houser joined the coaching staff for the following season and
remains an important part of the coaching staff at Le
Moyne.
